To artFACTORY patrons and the Houston community,

In light of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 crisis, and in heeding the guidelines and recommendations of our public health officials and government, we will be postponing all performances of LEGALLY BLONDE and temporarily closing the artFACTORY doors until further notice.

We look forward to continuing the season with LEGALLY BLONDE once our programming has resumed. We will continue to follow the guidance of local and state authorities and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As the situation shifts and develops, we will update our plans as necessary. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this unprecedented challenge and focus our energy on the remainder of the 2020 season and the future of artFACTORY.

As one of the most vulnerable industries, the arts sector is poised to receive one of the worst hits from this crisis.Across the nation, thousands of theatre professionals’ jobs are at risk. To minimize the impact during this very challenging hour, artFACTORY is committed to helping our artists, many of whom are dependent upon freelance work for their income. All actors and crew members have been compensated for the efforts and time they have already dedicated to our production of LEGALLY BLONDE.

Supporting artists and arts organizations during this period of uncertainty is more important now than ever. artFACTORY is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and can only exist with the generous support of our community.

In this industry, profit margins are slim. As a non-profit arts organization, closing our doors to the public means we will receive no income until programming begins again. This puts a strain on our ability to sustain and halts production (set realization, costuming, etc.). The significant loss of revenue could result in serious financial consequences. With your donation, we can protect the home we have built for our artists and artisans.

If you have the resources, we hope you'll consider a tax-deductible financial contribution to help us offset our regular expenses and the proceeds lost during our temporary closure, helping to secure our future.

We are grateful for your help in alleviating the burden this crisis places on our theatre, our artists and staff.

With all of our appreciation, the following options will be made available to all current ticket holders of delayed productions:

  • Donate the cost of your ticket(s)

  • Transfer your ticket to a rescheduled date during the production’s run

  • Credit your ticket towards any future artFACTORY performance

Current ticket holders should look for an email outlining these options, once our updated performance schedule is announced. In the interim, feel free to contact us with any questions via Info@artFACTORYhouston.com.

Our hearts and minds are with the individuals and families affected at this time, and with all arts organizations, industries, and small businesses who are suffering losses. We are dedicated to our mission and hope to be able to reopen our doors soon, so that we may continue providing Houston theatre-goers a full artistic experience that binds spectators to their humanity, allowing art to unite our community.

Please continue to check our Facebook and website for more information and updates.

Sincerely,

The artFACTORY Team
